Project management
The “Advanced Fruit and Viticulture” research group at the UPNA is the research team lead by Dr. Santesteban who has extensive experience in viticulture, materialised in several research projects and contracts with companies in the wine sector. In the field of grafting and pruning, his group has developed many advances in recent years within the framework of the regional projects Vit-Foot and Vit-Feet. The group is now working on a doctoral thesis in which some of the methodologies for characterisation by microscopy and hydraulic conductivity to be used in this project have been developed.The UPNA also has experience in Interreg projects (A, B and C), as well as in the Framework Programme and in appeals Daphne, D.G. Justice, D.G. Social Affaris, Cost. He is currently involved in 6 H2020 projects, 2 Interreg POCTEFA,12 Erasmus+ and is coordinator of an Interreg SUDOE. He is also involved in 3 projects of the calls “Rights Equality and Citizenship”, “Employment” and “LIFE”.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
UPNA will be the partner responsible for the management of the project.Regarding the activities developed in the project, it will be in charge of the pruning tasks on the spanish side, the evaluation of the type of graft by analysing the vascular connections with a HPFM team, and it will also be responsible for the elaboration of the guides of good practices of grafting and pruning.
